Revolut savings vault, cash, deposits — how to add something your bank doesn't offer?

Question from our Discord (anonymized):

Can I manually add an asset that doesn’t sync with the bank? I’m thinking of a savings account in Revolut, which is more of an internal piggy bank than an actual account.

Answer
Yes — in the Assets tab. It has three sections: Overview, Investments, and Retirement. You can manually add there:

  • savings and fixed-term deposits as a separate account type (this is exactly the place for a Revolut piggy bank or a bank deposit you don’t connect),
  • investment accounts with IKE/IKZE limits,
  • real estate — valued from official indexes, and you decide whether it should be counted as a sale or rental income in your retirement forecast,
  • cash and other assets.

You update the balances of these items yourself; Martia calculates your financial cushion from them (“how many months will it last”) and the retirement forecast, and tells you directly what isn’t included in the forecast.

Revolut piggy banks that the bank provides through open banking as sub-accounts are automatically pulled in anyway — only manually add what doesn’t appear in your account list.
