Question from our Discord (anonymized):
I linked a second account after a few weeks. Will Martia fix the earlier months, or only from now on?
Answer
It will fix things retroactively. Adding an account can change the classification of earlier transfers and historical reports — most often because transfers between your accounts, which so far looked like an expense or income, now have both sides and become internal transfers.
What happens after you add an account:
- we fetch as much history as the bank provides (usually 90 days, some banks more, others less — it depends on the bank, not us),
- we recalculate transfers between all your accounts,
- if any transaction could seriously skew the report (overpayment of a loan, a large transfer to yourself), Martia will ask you about it before showing the new report.
If after adding an account any month looks weird, post a description here (without amounts and account numbers) — usually it’s just one transfer that needs to be marked manually.
