Question from our Discord (anonymized):
Does the AI model take into account manual category corrections, or do I have to wait for the next sync?
Answer
It sees it right away. Every time you ask a question, Martia freshly reads the database and builds the context from the final category of each transaction — that is, the one you set last. You don’t need to refresh anything or wait for a sync with the bank.
A manual correction is saved with the source “manual” and is protected: rules, automatic categorization, and re-fetching transactions won’t overwrite it. All reports — expenses per category, trends, most frequent merchants, budgets, business/personal split — are calculated using that same, corrected category.
If you’re correcting the same thing multiple times (e.g., every visit to the same doctor), create a rule or tell it in the chat in one sentence: “everything from X is Healthcare”. The rule will also cover the past.
